You need to understand that bolting on a bigger turbo may have no effect at all and might also be less responsive. The turbo does not control boost levels. The ECI+BPC+WGA does that. You can make a lot of mods, in a logical progression, but the last thing one typically does is change the turbo out. Larger turbos are more efficient and are needed for thermal reasons when outputs are very large.

The T5 intake on the NG900 and 9-3s really sucks and is a limitation that needs to be addressed.

There are a few DIY intake mods that you need to do and you need to install the Viggen type IC if you do not have a 1999 SET HOT that had the Viggen IC in ex factory.

You can do the ECU or a MBC+A and get good results. But note that you really need to do things to lower the intake and exhaust restrictions in either case. Bolting a hot ECU onto a stock system is silly once you understand these things. See my long post from a an hour or so ago about 9-3 suspension mods.

So get the exhaust and intake ready in preparation for a hot ECU or MBC+A.

For those with the T7, a SMBC can improve responsiveness, base boost and a bit of peak boost for very little money. The result can be much more pronounced for manual gear box applications. Automatic transmission applications are inherently more responsive than manuals, so the effect for these is less dramatic. (You cannot do a MBC or MBC+A on a T7.)
