Was musing for no very good reason on possible cheaper parts combinations for bigger front brakes on a 9000. I don't really need them, I have too many other projects as it is, but the whole thing kinda got stuck in my mind.
The Euro-market Ford Focus RS uses a one-piece iron 12.8in rotor, 4x108mm bolt circle, 63-and-change centerbore but that's easy enough to diddle. The rotor hat configuration is a lot like the US-market Mustang Cobra rotors and the rest of the RS brake package is Brembo-supplied, so I assume the rotor probably is as well. Not sure of the thickness, I'll guess 28mm, maybe 30mm. Hat offset on other Focus rotors is within a couple mm of a stock 9000 rotor.
Sent off a request for a price quote to a UK Ford parts supplier. Basically $200 per rotor plus shipping, total once in my hands here in California would be $575.
Pretty much shoots the economics of that approach, unless someone's got a cheap source for Focus RS rotors.
