I put a michelin pilot 225/50-16 on my Aero rims for my classic turbo convertible with normal factory springs (not spg springs). The diameter was too tall and rubbed on bumps. The width was too wide for the 6.5" width of the Aero rim. The tire guy searched and searched for a manufacturer that literally stated that their 225/50-16 tire would fit on a 6.5" rim. Michelin pilots were the only ones that said it was "acceptable" but not "recommended"! The tire sorta puckered up on the lip of the rim and didn't really spread out well. I got bad tire wear. If you want a 225 width, get a 7-7.5" rim width and make sure you have proper offset for your Saab! You may be able to put a 215/45-16" on your Aero rims, if you can find such a tire. Check manufacturer warnings about tire fitment requirements.
