I must admit I've often pondered the same thing. If you've seen Gary Moore's swapped-and-clocked setup... that's something I'd like to do, in order to get a better air filter position and shorten the intake length. The room on the compressor side isn't great though with the horizontal mounting, so I've often thought an end-on (vertical) mounting would be better.
Anyone got an answer?
