I understand the importance of a car being able to breathe better, but one would expect greater gains as per the ricers. Whilst I'd rather be driving my saab than any ricer any day, I must admit that they are well engineered cars and I don't think that they start behind. The Nissan example I gave previously has quite a sophisticated engine even though its design can be traced to the early 90's, they have added things like variable valve timing and other fancy controls to give a power figure of 130 hp (wheel figure). With simple mods - exhaust, intake, boost - these motors can easily develop 200 hp (also wheel figure). In comparison, the Saab engine has its roots in early/mid 80's, without such development and as a result rates quite hight in NHV (noise harshness vibration) when compared to more modern engines - having said that, Saab engines will survive a nuclear war. Still prefer the Saab tho
