who went down this road five years or so ago. Once we got on the dyno and saw the spastic a/f graphs we started looking at other options (atermarket ecu's), or we dumped all the dodads (especially the rising rate fpr) and turned down the boost.
In my opinion, the chip is only as good as the support that you get. I would be very wary about ordering a chip without a wide band and the ability to make changes based on sound information. There are so many factors that play into haveing a nice fuel curve. I have been data logging with my wide band for a year with my aftermarket ecu and I am constatly reminded at the importance of the A/F data. For the best treatment on this subject, pick up Hartmans book "How to tune and modify aftermarket systems". It came out last year and helped me understand this subject. I learned more from that book then I did from hanging out for six years on the web.
A chip for the 2.2 or 2.4 still doesn't address the issue of timing. As a mechanic/owner of a national champion rally car (group 2) told me, timing is where you get a nice wide torque curve.
My two cents.....
