You are right, the tap needs to be as close to the TB as possible. Preferrably above the throttleplate but doesn't have to be. The elbow connecting to the TB would work but one would have to make a permenant hole on that and add a pressure tap. Most folks don't like to modify without being able to return the car to stock. There is also a blanking plug on the TB that also could be used. You will see it on there right above the TP. you could tap that out and tap in a barb that fits tightly. Again a bit of a change but it would work.
