Salutations:

I'm in the process of working up a fix for broken BPC valves, first thing you need to do is to check for 3ohms resistance between pin 1-2 and 2-3 on the BPC valve itself with it unplugged from the wiring loom with the car off. If you are reading correct resistance - plug it back in make sure you still have cruise control (if not - check switches going to peddles).

As noted - check carefully for vacuum leaks on the lines to the turbo (although usually results in uncontrolled boost) and drop a can of octane in to make sure that you are feeding it properly.

Afterwards - unplug your BPC connector and take it for another drive. If there is no change in boost, you likely have a bad BPC valve (although it could be a sour controller - though that usually throws a CEL).

If you are reading radically different resistance on your BPC between the pins it is *strongly advisable* to unplug it from the loom because in the right circumstances it will short your APC unit and blow the next BPC valve you put in on start-up.

There is a fuse (number 5 I think?) - check if it is blown. If so - get yourself to a shop and don't replace it until you have checked the loom and the BPC for short because, again, you could blow the APC or the new BPC in the right circumstances.

I worked up a fairly cheapo bleeder valve/overboost solution. Do not do this with an aftermarket chip - I rely on the engine to shut down before I blow it up.

There is a much better one around in the body of a MBC+A being put together by Jeff in Atl.
