I guess it comes down to a bell vs spearco way of measuring CFM and as NC says it needs to be grounded in a PSI. Spearco and Bell seem to have very different ideas in how to make them too, I would guess that a spearco unit would have better cooling while a bell unit would have better flow, given a similair core size.
I have no doubt that the MP intecooler is a huge improvement over even the viggen intercooler, at the same time I have a hard time believing that intercooler tech has improved to the point where a modern unit with 1/3 of the core dimension could be equal to an older style in terms of CFM. But I guess what the bottom line is that you can't compare CFM ratings from one to the other unless you know exactly how each one is tested and at what pressure.
