If you want to look like a pro at the track, just bring a folding chair(s) and a cooler with water, gatorade, snacks, etc. If applicable for your climate, bring your own shade structure. You need to take care of yourself between sessions by staying hydrated and rested. It's a classic newbie move to arrive totally unprepared and be unable to maintain concentration in the afternoon due to hunger & dehydration.

For the car, TML listed a bunch of good things on the basic tech inspection. You can check all these items in advance so that you don't have any issues at the track. For instance, I got caught once for not having my positive battery terminal covered! I normally bring an air pressure gage for making tire pressure changes during the day.
