Hi i have a 88 900t and i would like to start out by saying i love my car. I have done some mild tuning to it running about 3/4 red boost and some injectors and what not. Well, to make a long story short c900 transmissions are garbage. I dont consider it a good investment of money to continue to put new trans it to eat them, ive eaten 2 5speeds and one 4 speed. I have looked around a little bit and have found that most consider a rwd swap to be a waste of time or whatever and that you think another engine wouldnt make it a saab. Well im not willing to get another car because for some reason im attached to this car not to mention after a corolla gts and a 924 turbo RWD is really fun i found out. So i am looking to do a 6 speed ls-1 swap. I figure that the alumnium block v-8 would probably not be any more heavy than the iron block 4, not to mention the enormous power potential. I have found a sort of computer that lets you put an ls1 in anything. So i was wondering that rear end i should use and how sawzall happy i would have to get in making a drive tunnel and also how the rear end would bolt up to the rear end. SO i would have the all powerful rwd saab ive always wanted and the trans wouldnt suck. i do realize that custom gauges would be required and custom engine mounts and what not. It doesnt bother me, i just want the car i just cant bring my self to replace to run like a champ. Thanks!
