I do NOT believe these pads will fit on a Sonett III!
I and other performance Saab guys have done quite a bit of looking for performance pads for the later vintage Saabs and there isn't much available for the 5 bolt hub. The 5 bolt hub uses the single piston caliper that has the tapered pad. Back a few years ago, you could get Ferodo pads in several grades. I recall that Hawk had two grades of pad. These are pretty much gone, as no other cars share this pad shape/size and the volume is just not there. A while ago, Chip Lamb at West of Sweden told me he had a few sets of Ferodo pads left.
What you are seeing on Fleabay and on Auto Parts Warehouse are pads for the 4 bolt hub, which has the dual piston caliper. This is shared with MG's and there are a number of pad materials available. These were used on the mid 1960's Saab Monte Carlo's and early Sonett II's with the two stroke motor. They will not fit 1968 and up Vintage Saabs!
These days, in order to get better performance pads, you either have to source some rare 4 bolt hubs with dual piston calipers or convert over to Brembo brakes. The later requires machining.
