If you have the drive shaft and the rotor out of the car you can slip the new boot over the inner t-shaped CV joint and down over the outer CV joint. You have to stretch it carefully but it will go. Be sure to be careful and not let the caps and needle bearings on the inner CV joint get away from you or you can easily lose the needle bearings. If you are trying to replace the outer boot without taking the drive shaft out, I'm not sure you can do it because to remove the outer CV joint you have to press it out of the wheel bearing and then "knock" the CV joint off of the drive shaft. The third possibility is to buy a universal split CV joint boot that is close to the original one and put in on without removing anything. If your old boot is torn you probably need to clean out the CV joint anyway and repack with new CV joint grease or all you will be doing is putting a new boot on to hold in old grease and dirt. A Haynes manual or one of the Saab service manuals will tell you how to remove all of these parts (be super careful with the coil spring!) and how to press them apart and how to knock the outer CV joint off of the drive shaft.
