Thanks for going to the trouble to post a pic!

However, I forgot to mention mine was a '74 and the plate is mounted to the inside of the windshield pillar, and not to the top of the dash as on early models. However, I am still guessing that it goes so that it can be read from the outside (which would make it upside down from the driver's seat).
