new pistons and the etc... to go along with Posted by cobra989 [Email] (#616) [Profile/Gallery] (more from cobra989) on Tue, 27 Sep 2011 13:44:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hey guys,
So Im getting the engine rebuilt in the sonett... and to no surprise the pistons and all that are bad(rings valves are pretty shot) the cam is gonna have to be machined, and the timing gears are bad.. So I guess Ill have to bore out the engine... I know this is a prime opportunity to install the hardended valve seats and exhaust stuff to not run leaded gas but... What all do i need. I found the other thread showing the stuff from the bronco II engine(2.8L V6) but what all needs to be done to get those seats and valves into the car and make it work. I also need new pistons so with that other stuff in mind what would you all reccomend? I have a choice to do this stuff or get another engine i found in wisconsin that needs a rebuild too but is in a little better shape but its $550... I was hoping that reparing that stuff would be cheaper but then again the cheapest ive ever found a timing gear set was from chip lamb for 390 for the steal timing gears. I really need some advice because this is starting to get expensive again and i need to controll my costs to the best that I can. Again thanks in advance!
