No problem. Happy to offer advice.
I'm no shock expert, but I understand there are two main differences:
1) the gas shock tends to dissipate heat better, making it more resistant to "shock fade" over bumpy roads.
2) the gas shock has a chamber of gas, usually nitrogen, that prevents air bubbles from getting into the damping oil. this also reduces "shock fade".
There are people that say VSaab handling is negatively affected by gas shocks and have taken them off in disgust. That's not my experience.
Maybe some others can chime in and offer their experience.
