So here's what I hope isn't a stupid question. If you have to move the PCV valve to a hole you tap in the intake, and if the only other function (at least on a Sonett) for the intermediate plate is the deceleration valve which most of us have eschewed anyway, could you not - both of these things being true - ditch the intermediate plate altogether, bolt the carb right to the manifold and have more clearance for an air cleaner on the Weber?
