I’m nearing my wits’ end. I’ve tried every degreaser and penetrating oil in mg arsenal with zero effect. Next step is heat. If the heat gun fails, it’s time to go nuclear. I saw a web post where it looked like someone got to the same point I am, and just cut out the bracket on the brake pedal side, did the disassembly on a bench, then welded the bracket back in. It’s drastic, but at this point I don’t see any other options. If I end up going this route I’ll post pictures as a guide to the next poor soul. Wish me luck.
All this because there’s goo in the system that’s keeping my pedal from returning. It’s galling that this dramatic a solution has to be undertaken for so banal a cause.
