The existing soccer ball wheels have been reported to take tires up to 195 (don't know the ratio) with good springs. More commonly it seems like 185 is a safe limit to avoid rubbing, but you're a bit limited on ratios because of the narrow rim.
Does anyone have knowledge on how well slightly wider wheels work? Without body mods. I did see a pic of SAAB Aztec wheels on a Sonett, hubs had been converted.
16" 5x170 are rare, but it appears that the Renault Master 1998-2003 and the Opel Movano (unknown years) also used that bolt pattern. Aftermarket rims are available in a lot of styles. Nothing is as pretty as our soccer balls, but some snowflake patterns come close. Big diff is that these wheels are all 6.5" wide, versus our 4.5". Is that too wide?
A 16" wheel with a lower profile tire that keeps the Total Diameter stock would be nice so long as it didn't rub anywhere.
