- is to mock up a wheel tire combo by adding miscellaneous material to an existing wheel/tire to give diameter, width, offset of a proposed combo. I think you will find that it's pretty limiting, especially in the rear. I'm working on a '73 S-III that I think I can make 15x5.5 work and lower the car a bit. Monte Carlo 4 on 4.5 hub/drums and OE Saab Minilite wheels. It has been noted on other forums that there are a couple newer European cars with same 5 on 170 pattern, and there were some adapters made at one time. I have a set of 15x6 steel wheels fabbed by Jack Ashcraft many years ago - stock center put into 6" rims. Jack Lawrence made some wide Soccerballs years ago by cutting two wheels and welding to make a 15 x 5-1/2" I think. Also think I once saw Soccer centers machined and adapted into a modular 2 or 3-piece wheel. Many misc possibilites if you're willing to spend the $$$$$.
Stock Saab alloy wheels and good 185-65 tires is quite good with minimal efforts.
