Radio and Panel Lights Installation Posted by BradW [Email] |
We found one of those cool, backlit bars for the middle panel (temp/vent/defr etc labels) and are installing that along with a European Blaupunkt Mannheim radio from the 70’s with shortwave as well as FM/AM. The radio is monaural but has port for inputting other sources (like Bluetooth).
Does anyone know how the backlit lucite bar attaches? I’ve not found instructions and there’s nothing obvious behind the panel. The panel has to go in first and then the bar gets mounted from behind (since it’s wider than the panel).
Also, any radio mounting hints? There’s a convenient cross bar to carry the radio’s weight, but currently all of my electrical bundles run over the top of that bar. I suspect those wiring bundles to the center panel switches were originally intended to be routed under that cross bar and leave a clear spot for the radio?
