After putting everything back together, did you check the clutch free-play adjustment? The adjuster is that square-headed bolt on the side of the bellhousing opposite the slave cylinder; there's a specified free-play value (which escapes me at the moment, but it should be in your service manual) which you check by flipping back the rubber boot over the slave-cylinder pushrod, pressing the clutch lever forward with your finger (stiff spring!) and measuring how much free movement it goes through. If you're right on the borderline of having too much freeplay, it could be that the clutch is releasing OK when the engine is cold, but won't release fully once the disk warms up and expands a bit. This is strictly a wild guess, but at least it's easy to check and to fix if it turns out to be a problem...
