Mike,
What about the sound of the exhaust is not what you'd like?
Too loud?
Too quiet?
Or just not the sound/tone you were expecting?

There are a couple versions of the MSS exhaust. If indeed it does have the MSS...
One version uses a single long glasspack straight through muffler, squished for clearance.
The other version adds a second glasspack to quiet things down a bit more.

Which have you got?

Keep in mind that a modified V4 is not going to sound like ANYTHING on the road today. It has a sound all it's own. Even other V4's (OK, the only other V4) I've heard sound different than what you and I have got under the hood.

It's half a Ford V8 from the 60's and it sounds like it. Revell in the uniqueness of it, don't try to emulate the sounds of today. Most are flawed in concept anyway.

I've got a few videos on my website that give a halfway decent clue as to what my Sonett sounds like with the single glasspack MSS exhaust... but the file sizes are pretty large so it might take you a while to download them.
I figure I am getting about 100 to 110 hp out of my V4. It's an open-deck 1500 with 40DFI Weber, SS&R 8.5 cam, ported heads, big valves, stiffer valve springs, lightened flywheel, electric fan,... the basics.

Keep in mind that most exhaust tips don't DO anything except act as an amplifier of the sound.

Which yellow car in the gallery with the Panasports are you wondering about?
