I'm willing to bet you are in for a lot of work. Rocker panels are rhe steel pieces below each door, they really are the only part of the car that ties the front to the back. without rocker panels, the car would be about as strong as a flat sheet of cardboard. The rocker panels are what keep everything from twisting.

because the skin of these cars is fiberglass, they are deceiving, they look good, but the structure usually is pretty sad.

the cars are inexpensive because demand is low.

take for instance the 2-stroke sonetts...258 were made....a similar bmw (507) goes for $200,000 and up...the saab you can buy for $5000 for a runner, $15,000 for a perfect example.

in a way it allows normal (?) folks like us to drive an extremely unusual car...if it was a bmw 507, it would never leave the garage.
