The biggest problem and time killer for restoration of any of the old Saabs seems to be rust, especially the floorboards, around the shock mounts, rocker panels and rear areas. Look under the mats, under the car and go over most of the less-than visible areas for rust.
The next area would be the glass, body panels and interior trim parts. These can be found for replacement but they are expensive.
Mechanical parts are relatively easy to find and if you don't want to do the work yourself, services for rebuilding most of the major components (engine, transmission, etc.) are available.
Your best bet for finding parts and services is look through the postings here to contact:
Motor Sport Service in Jamestown, NY
Chip at West of Sweden in Virginia (http://www.wmsbrg.com/sweden/specials.html)
Jack Ashcraft in Oregon (http://pages.prodigy.net/jackashcraft/)
Engine parts from Northern Power Products (German Ford Industrial engine supplier.) (800) 284-6247
Mats at Motor Sport Sweden (http://www.motorsportsweden.com)
Rolf at the Swedish Saab Club (http://biphome.spray.se/rolf.jensen/)
More common parts (brakes, etc.) at http://www.importec.com
Good luck!
