On the highway, 70+ is standard in the Sonett. There is no rotting in any of the floors but I'm Cali, so this also probably depends on your location and care of car. The car goes over 100 easy and drives straight as an arrow. Keep the car in good shape and always have an out while driving (defensive driving) and you'll be fine. Lapse in any one area and combine it with some bad luck and you'll be on the wrong end of a weight contest.
I drove my Sonett as my own daily driver for 2 years before buying my most recent Saab.
