Patquin, no solution here either for the V4's. I reinstalled the old yellow supersport Excel coil and original resistor which always worked great, just wanted more. I decided to hook up the new coil and resistor to the 74 and had no problems at all, in fact I picked up 200 RPM at idle :) a good sign. The 74 had a motor swap years back and went from the original 1700 to a 1500 so ended up with the short reach plugs, which are currently Iridium NGK's. #391 has a 1700+ so it looks like the only difference is the tach. The 40K V MSD runs cool and by the audible crack when leaving the tower wire off, it has my respect.
