Apparently it takes a lot of thought, and time. On the to do list:
Remove the doors after checking for the proper alignment of each. Document and take detailed digital photos. Tack weld a brace across each of the door openings and cross brace each brace to it's twin.
Remove the rear tail lights compete with wiring. Except the headliner, remove the interior. Remove the rear window and vent windows. Disassemble the fuel neck and the vapor recovery tube from the body. Loosen and remove the brace which holds the rear glass release assembly at the back of the car. Under the bottom/back of the body loosen the bolts for the clamping bar. On early Sonetts the bumper comes off, as it mounts to the frame at two points. Remove the bolt that is located at the back end of each rocker panel. Remove the door jamb catches and drill out the rivets around the door openings. With the front kick panel removed you will see a bolt on each side at the base of the cowl, which also require to be removed. It also helps to loosen the dash. There are also some small rivets located behind the door openings, where the stainless steel trim is attached to the chassis and they too need to be drilled out. Next remove the wipers backing off the nuts and pushing them down into the holes. Drill out all of the rivets at the front of the cowl, while collecting the six little swivel braces that go under the dash top. They fall when you drill out the rivets. Removing the heater box cover is required to get at some of those rivets. A small screw in the center of the dash top needs to be removed and the roll bar needs to be unscrewed from the two hinges above it.
Now devise a tool that will get into the "moose snot" glue and cut the seal everywhere. Saab did not intend for the bodies to come off!
Use two people with a third to help guide the body as it is lifted. The windshield comes up, as the sides are pulled outwards, while the body is lifted up and backwards. Now put it back on!!!!!
