.. I caved. I listenned to you guys and bought the weber 32 36. It came off a Datsun. DGAV for a guy who likes water operated chokes. I guess I will take you guys' advice and sell the Solex to a collector. Any Ideas as to whether or not I should rejet this carb. I currently have a stock engine.
Optimum jetting for Webers tends to be very specific to the individual engine and operating conditions. My 32/36 DGAV is transplanted from a Volvo 1.8L to a stock 2BBL manifold on 1.5L engine and tends to be rich, someday I will get around to messing with the jets. You should mount the carb and drive it and then fiddle. The best way to assess need for jetting changes is to drive it with a portable exhaust gas analyzer which can tell you precisely how it is running. Short of this there are other seat-of-the-pants ways to dial this in.
"As far as the fuel injection, I decided that before I drill up the manifold to build a dry injection system and mount rails, I will build a box out of plastic hot water plumbing piping and end pipes, and I will drill bungs and rails into that. I will attach that stuff to the manifold to create a wet system."
Eh? Maybe I missed a post where you talked about fuel injection so I am not clear what you are talking about; what captured my attention is the apparent intent to run fuel in plastic water piping. If that is what you mean, please don't.
