ok, got the '74 running after rebuilding the carb. still needs carb work. after 30min it decided to no longer idle and started to leak again (i think the float is getting stuck)

rebuilt the clutch master, put in new line from the remote reservoir. wasn't too bad getting it in or out. to get the nuts/bolts back on we took off the front driver side wheel and reached in through the hole for the front axels. still not an easy job, but not impossible with 2 people and some sockets with extensions.

bled the system by removing the cap on the reservoir and putting on the cap from a bottle of transmission oil. the cap from the gear oil bottle has a cone shaped tip and the same threads as the reservoir. filled up the reservoir, opened the bleeder on the slave with a hose going to a bottle and put 20psi pressure on the system using compressed air gun stuck on the cone shaped tip of the cap.

about 1min later the reservoir was 90% empty and no air bubbles were coming out of the slave. filled the reservoir back up and just for good measure did 2 "normal" pump/bleeds with the pedal. wasn't really needed.

clutch works fine now, no leaks :)

so we took the '74 for it's first spin around the block, gotta say it's a bit odd to drive the first time (never drove a saab before), with no power brakes etc. freewheel works fine!

next steps: fix gas leak and stall (most likely related). check points/timing. change transmission oil. get new tires. inspect A/C system
