Depending on how much you want to insure the Sonett for, you may be required to have an appraisal. I recently asked Haggerty to insure my '68 96 for considerably more than their highest listed value. I sent pics and lots of data on the car but they still requested I get an appraisal before the would write a policy for it. As of yet I have not had the appraisal done, I'm looking around for an appropriate person, so the car can only be insured for Haggerty's highest book value, $6,300.00. The top value for a Sonett may be different.
It will be hard to insure a car for the entire cost of a restoration. We always put more money into them then we could ever hope to get out.
