...Minor damage, but I want it all buttoned up. Where the front and rear halves of the floor meet on the drivers side, there is some well contained rot. Also, there is some small area of rot on the rockers. Finally there is a section of trunk pan, but I think I might epoxy that upper section (using body working epoxy) as I am not into dropping the gas tank. The lower trunk section will be welded. I should be done with all that this week. I am using scrap metal from a Jeep Grand Cherokee hood, as the local iron seller wanted almost 50 bucks for a 4x8 sheet of 20 guage galvanized. Initially the flux wire the machine came with was making ugly welds, but now I am using steel wire and Argon/CO2 gas, and the welds are almost effortless.
The engine is working well. It idles beautifully, there is no smoke, and it has lots of power. I just need to jerry rig some vacuum lines to the distributer for advance. The fan is on the back burner until the welding is complete.
