...as the whole 3.5 conversion, so wouldn't involve as much finish work and wouldn't change the appearance of the car as much.
I found a description of it in an old Saab magazine somewhere, though, and it does involve laying up reinforcements to the fiberglass, fabricating brackets, etc., in addition to the actual installation itself, so it's still a fairly advanced project and would take some good skills to make it turn out well.
Personally, I just figure that once you've removed the nose five or six times, it's no longer a big deal and you just accept it as something you do for any major front-end work. Generally I budget about 20 minutes to take it off and maybe twice that to put it back on and get it all lined up and everything connected, but I know people who say they can do on or off in 10 minutes!
As to bleeding the cooling system, I don't know that there are any tricks that aren't in the manual: turn the heater on all the way, open the bleed nipple on the heater box, warm up the engine until you get a steady stream out of the nipple and then close it. Lather, rinse, and repeat. If there's a secret to it, it's the "repeat" part -- just figure you'll have to do this several times over a period of a week or two before you get most of the air out.
