Saabers,
I have a Saab collection..from Saabs dating from the late fifties to the early 90s.
As from 2004, a 1972 Sonett has been added. In the past, I never liked the Sonett, yet decided to try this one, after joys with the 96's.
Now I love this unorthodox plastic Saab. I just purchased my second one.
As for the first, with rotted chasis, no trunk floor, rotted sills, I will restore ..restore..restore... I'm aming definitely for a show car
My question is the cracks on the hood, ..small spider cracks here and there.. long cracks as well. cracks right by the edge of the orifaces for the retracting lights.
I notice on the second one..a few cracks as well.. Same places too..
What can be done to help prevent cracks? I wonder if it is the vibration from the road..ie flexing that produces these cracks? Cold? or hot temperature?
My question is what is the ideal method to repair these cracks. IE: Sanding to the fiberglass? Secondly, what materials ought to be used? Bondo? patches? finish paint?
Special or standard paint? flex agent? etc?
Thanks. I'm not familiar with fiberglass..
Thanks for your help...
