I can't be sure this was the cause, but when I got my 95 I had some hesitation issues. Eventually I noticed that the fuel pump (which was a non-OEM replacement) had been installed with the inlet on the top and the outlet on the bottom -- opposite to what I've seen on my other V4s with OEM pumps.
I turned the pump over so the inlet was on the bottom and the outlet on the top, and the problem went away.
My theory is that when fuel gets low in the tank, the pump can't suck hard enough to raise it the extra few inches when the inlet is on the top. When the inlet is on the bottom, it's always lower than the tank, so gravity keeps the inlet filled at all times.
But as I say, I can't prove it. I also fixed several other things at the same time I changed the pump, so it's possible one of the other fixes cured the hesitation.
