Eric,
That is true about the safety features. This is one of the reasons why I was thinking to change the silver colour.
Earlier today, I was waiting for a light, and a low silver Corvette pulled next to my 900. After the light, I pulled off, ..and roughly 500 feet, glanced at the passenger rear view mirror, as I remember that the Corvette was there.
I saw not anything, then a few seconds later...guess? The silver Corvette pulls up alongside. (quiet too) If I was one of those eractic hasty drivers, who rapidly switches lanes, it would have been a Saab/Corvette wedding.
This is the problem with low sports cars, and the silver blends in with the scenary..especially on a sunny day. ( I believe James Dean was killed in a silver Porsche, and the guy who hit him said he never seen him.) Now, with all of these elephant SUvs around, the Sonett needs a true defensive driver to keep it alive, and one of those funky colours, and some would say one of those noisy MSS exhausts.
On anothe note,
My '74 99 nothcback colour is sunset orange, and can be seen from an incredible distance. The "tanklike" car never fails to turn heads. Of course, I have a matching orange "spring" sweater in the same shade.
