I recall that my Sonett II V4 barely fit in the wheel trays on the U-haul dolly I rented to bring it home. The tires at the time were 165-(78)-15. Had the tires been wider the distance between their inner tread would have been narrower than the minimum that dolly could accomodate.
Wheel spacers, even a 1/2 inch stack of washers between the wheel and brake, would have helped widen the car's track to fit the dolly better.
Also the short wheel base and low clearance mean the dolly's drive up ramps had to be removable or able to be slid under the wheel pads. Any dips in the road that raise the dolly axle or lower the tongue would push fixed ramps into the sill rockers.
