Richard,
Great to hear from an original owner! That is QUITE rare! The production numbers for these cars is quite low, with a bit of 10,000 made. As you can see from the classified ads, Sonetts come up for sale quite often. I happen to have two- a '73 and a '74. I'm amazed at how many turn up in the Northeast where I live.
Yours being a '72, it has the smaller bumpers which most find more desirable over the larger bumpers in the newer Sonetts. Yours also has a couple of other very minor differences- the switches in the center console are different.
Parts are quite easy to come by. Motor Sport Service in Jamestown NY has performance parts including nice performance exhaust systems- my two have his exhaust, although it is a bit on the loud side. Jack Ashcraft out in Oregon has a number of parts and a good website. Chip Lamb at West of Sweden stocks quite a bit, just to name three of the suppliers.
Hope you can get yours back on the road. Please give us status or ask questions as appropriate!
