Sport Exhaust [saabnet.com]
Posted by Trionic900 - http://saabnet.com/tsn/forms/e.php3?e (more from Trionic900 - http://saabnet.com/tsn/forms/e.php3?e) on Wed, 1 Sep 2004 04:05:22

I installed a Saab Sport Exhaust system on my (recently sold) 1995 900SE
Turbo. I was not totally 'in love' with the sound it delivered. Kind of a
high pitched 'buzz'. It sounded too much like a Honda Civic with one of those
huge muffler/tailpipe assemblies- very Japanese. But- high school kids loved
it!
Installing the Sport Exhaust on a non-turbo is not recommended by Saab. The
reason is that the turbo helps to quiet the exhaust some. Saab developed the
Sport Exhaust with the turbo as part of the system. A non-turbo vehicle would
probably sound terrible I imagine.
Just my 2 cents.
