Steve, that's odd. I went to the site you referenced. The National Motorists
Association (NMA) misquotes the Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI). The NMA
claims that the HLDI claims that DRLs increase the accident rate, whereas the
HLDI claims that they reduce accidents. I tried to find the details of
studies, and I couldn't find any studies that offer extensive details, but
one thing is interesting and refutes your claims. There are many claims that
DRLs help and none that claim that they hurt, except from the NMA, which
doesn't seem to like to produce details of how data is collected. In fact,
they don't even provide a link to the HLDI study. I think it's because they
don't want guys like me to notice that they are contradicting the study they
claim to agree with.
