I wouldn't use a helicoil unless I absolutely had to. Don't think I would retorque, either.
You will need to install a new gasket to prevent leaks. If you just have to, use a tap and
die set to clean up the threads if you can get in there-doubt if over-torquing at that low
20# setting would totally destroy threads.
