Saab 96V4

My partner and I ran a Saab 96 for a year or so as our first car. Ourswas a well used example --- 12 owners, two engines, 130,000 miles. The welding required was horrific. We're currently looking for another, less degenerate, one; we'd like oneof the last ones made, circa 1978, but will probably settle for amid-seventies one. It'd make a new friend for our Citroen BX and the1974 Hillman Avenger (== Plymouth Cricket) which we use for the sleazierparts of town.Has anyone on the list run a 96? Any points to look for to add to thosewe gleaned from ours (don't worry about the diff whining; bleed theclutch often; check BOTH halves of the brake master cylinder...)Has anyone views on the durability of 99s and 900s? Old 900s are cheapin the UK and once my next birthday has passed and the the insurancedrops of horrific to alarming I'd like to look at one if 96s proveimpractical.ian
