Few 16v questions

I have a few questions...
1. can I put a turbo head on a non turbo block? I have a cracked block from
a turbo and an old block from a 16v 900s will that work?
2. The ticking is still there, is there any way to rid the ticking sound? I
had thehead redone after blowing the Head gasket and now it ticks, it did not
tick before....same lifters, how can I make it go way?
