Sounds like the car is over boosting, can just need a recalibration, may need the boost solenoid.
Details for either at the links below. look under the DI/APC & Trionic sections.
Components at http://216.78.173.63/turbo_folder/tricomloc.htm
Base setting/ recalibration at http://216.78.173.63/turbo_folder/baseboostadj.htm
Basically disconnect the battery and then go drive hard, trying to keep it between 2500-3750 rpm as long as possible with the gas pedal floored in third gear up a hill.
To test the boost solenoid, disconnect the connector to it, and using an ohmmeter, check for continuity from each end terminal to the center terminal. An open on one side causes base boost only, an open on the other causes full boost only.
You can only deactivate TCS on manual transmission cars and it requires a switch to turn it on and off , rewiring, and a new ECU for TCS that incorporates the on/off function, not cheap. Auto cars cannot be disabled because the TCS also controls the tranny shift points through ASR and the kick down motor.
If the problem was caused by TCS,. most likely you would have a TCS light on in the dash.
You might also have either a bad DI cassette, but my money is on the boost solenoid.
Good Luck,
