Just fine, as long as you haven't been driving with a broken boot for an
extended period. These things dry rot/crack all the time; you can almost
consider it a maintenance item.

I haven't heard wonderful things about the split boot design, treat your
car to a new factory boot and forget about it for another 100k+ miles...
