Check the identification tag on your gearbox. If it says GM75701, then
you've got the same tranny as our 1993 CSET 5-speed. This gearbox has no
drain plug (just like all earlier 9k gearboxes), so the only way to get all
the old oil out is to remove the gearbox from the car, and hold it
upside-down for a few minutes.

Alternatively, you can rig up a soap-bottle pump and 4 or 5 feet of
rubber/plastic hose, remove the speedometer sending-unit from the back of
the gearbox case, and pump all the old oil out of that hole.

If your gearbox number begins with letters other than GM, then you should
have a drain-plug, and a level-plug, and the owner's manual should have the
details on how to drain and fill the thing.

It has improved the shifting smoothness in EVERY SAAB gearbox I have put it
in. '84 900S, '86 9000T and '93 9000 CSET.

http://www.redlineoil.com

Check out the dealer listings, and if in doubt, call their California
headquarters for more info.

Read the specifications pages in your owner's manual ! (A little less than
3 quarts IIRC)
