I have a My 1998 9-5 2.3 low pressure turbo and its is gem of a machine. I
would recommend it to any one. I say ' Go for it'. On the maintenance it
doesnt need muchspecially when the service is after 10,000 kilometers. Since
you drive about 25,000 kilometers per year you will need only 2 services.
The manufacturer specifies a service program at every 10,000 kilometers, ask
the saleman for that, and you will know that it is not oil and filter only.
Saab recommends a very thorough check up, which does cost money but when you
divide the cost with 10,000 kilometers you get per kilometer of running
maintenance cost. Look at it from this way, how much the car costs you per
kilometer in maintenance and it is not much.
It grows on you with all the builtin features. You will love it. Get a three
year maintenance plan if costs is a worry plus 3 years warranty will keep
you secure. This is my secong Saab and it just goes on and on, eleven years?
no problem.
