Not sure (as I don't have a 9-5), but you should check the local auto parts
store (like AutoZone) for Bosch Edge Excel (or some such) wiper refills.

This is a box of just the rubber inserts and stainless steel stiffening
ribs.  There are two inserts per box.  Different lengths are available.

Take your whole wiper blades into the store with you to check whether this
Bosch stuff will fit, and to find out what lengths you need.

I always prefer to do this on my SAABs rather than replacing the whole wiper
blades with the generic ones (or the relatively expensive dealer ones).

Definitely time.  Even if you don't use the wipers at all, the sun burns
them all summer long and makes them lose their flexibility.
