Quaife just answered my question:

'The F35 differential will not fit the F40 gearbox. Although the dimensions of the diff are
the same, the crownwheel is mounted on the other side of the flange making it impossible to
fit. We have however just produced a prototype batch of F40 diffs, should you wish to purchase
