Honda is recommending that you change a timing _belt_, not a timing _chain_. I
timing belt is rubber and is a 'wear item.' There is no scheduled
maintenance/replacement interval for most timing chains. The chains are pretty
tough.
btw, I think he is ripping you off. But maybe he's just careful. Either way, I
wouldn't do it.
